Measuring 14 x 36 inches, and painted on a narrow, vertical panel, to emphasize the figure’s elongation and quiet presence, the work is deliberately stylized: a lone, elongated woman occupies the center, her head tilted gently to one side as if listening to something only she can hear.

Texture is important here. I used a combination of brushwork and palette-knife scraping: some passages are heavily worked and tactile, others are translucent, letting the underlayers show through. In places I scored into the paint to expose earlier colors, creating a subtle narrative of buildup and erasure. The red of the hair and the warmer accents throughout the torso act as visual anchors, creating a tension with the coolness of the face and the acidic background.
